02 ABOUT
Hi! I'm Thomas, a Game & Level Designer with 4+ years of experience designing systems, creating open world quests, narrative-driven indie games, and experimental design projects. Skilled in leading design teams, crafting engaging player experiences, and building playable prototypes in Unity.

I explore unconventional ways of using game engines, applying them beyond their original purpose to drive both human-centered and experimental design projects in professional, academic and personal contexts. While I recognize that human-computer interactions aren’t always the answer to every design challenge, I see them as powerful tools for reimagining everyday actions. When combined with traditional design principles and techniques, they unlock new possibilities for creating meaningful, engaging experiences.
In 2020, I completed my undergraduate program in the School of Design at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, with a minor in Visual Computing. I’m passionate about human-computer interaction, as well as using software and hardware to tackle design challenges and augment human experiences.

In 2021, I co-founded Mission Control Studios, an indie game development studio focused on narrative-driven video games. Developed three fully featured indie video games, namely Dysthymia: a 2D Puzzle Platformer, Artifacts: a 2D Co-Op Arcade-style Experience, and Farspeaker, a 2D Puzzle-Simulator. So far, these games have been beta-tested by more than 300 players, and have been featured in a handful of indie video game video reviews.
